Grey Squirrel Control
Grey Squirrels can cause many problems both in the countryside and in urban areas. They can kill hundreds of trees by stripping their bark off to get at the inner bark. Grey Squirrels will also dig up garden bulbs; inhabit lofts and attics chewing through wires, destroying loft insulation and an personal possessions that may be there; raid bird feeders, scaring song birds away; they also displace populations of our native Red Squirrel, because of the Grey Squirrels high breeding rate, greater physical attributes and adaptability to habitat change, Grey Squirrels have displaced Red Squirrels throughout most of the country. Grey Squirrels also carry the Parapoxvirus which is fatal to Red Squirrels
Suddenstrike Ltd offers many services to control and remove Grey Squirrels from all situations.
Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 it is illegal to release a Grey Squirrel or allow it to escape into the countryside as it is not an indigenous species to this country (it was introduced into the country from the United States and so is not native to Great Britain).
Rodent Control
Rats and Mice are a major problem throughout the UK. Their presence can instantly destroy a companies reputation. Rodents, in particular Rats, have the power to transmit numerous diseases and infections such as Salmonellosis, caused by bacteria of the salmonella group and is one of the most widespread of animal borne diseases, others include Leptospirosis (Weil's Disease) which is thought to be carried by around 50-70% of rats and may result in the loss of human life. Parasites carried and transmitted by rodents also include mites, fleas, tapeworms and ringworm.
If left uncontrolled, rodents can damage property and buildings which can be expensive and also poses a threat to public health. Rodents have to gnaw constantly in order to keep their ever-growing incisor teeth at a manageable size, they frequently gnaw through electrical cables and water pipes potentially causing fire risks and floods.
At Suddenstrike Ltd, we believe that prevention is better than cure. We will conduct a comprehensive site survey in order to compile an Integrated Pest Management System tailored to meet your needs and maintained by a Pest Control Service Agreement, providing you with the highest level of protection and detailed records to make sure that you comply with UK law and legislation.
All of our technicians are fully trained, qualified, insured and experienced, giving you piece of mind knowing that the job is being done by professionals. As a company we are members of the British Pest Control Association (BPCA) and the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA).
Insect Control
Wasps and Bees pose a significant threat to public health and safety especially when they are in large numbers at schools and public places; they can both inflict a painful sting that often results in an Anaphylactic shock which can be life threatening.
Bees are not protected by law, however, they are a beneficial insect and their numbers are on the decline. At Suddenstrike we will always try to remove Bees and relocate them where ever possible, using an insecticide is only ever a last resort.
Although Ants will bite in order to protect their nest, the main problems
caused by them are from the contamination of food stuffs, they can also be a
nuisance especially in large numbers when foraging or during the mating
swarms.
